I Love Mini Sessions!

Mini sessions are one of my top favourite types of sessions to shoot.

I like to think I'm in the business of making new friends, and this is one of the best ways that I've been able to do that. I've met so many incredible people through minis, and it's my absolute joy to get a glimpse into who my clients are and what their story is.

Plus, mini sessions are A BLAST! They're quick and fun and often lead to gut-busting laughs!

I hold mini sessions multiple times a year, and I can't get enough of them! You can check out some of my mini session work HERE!

What is a Mini Session?

I'm sure you've heard the term "mini session" floating around, and maybe you've been wondering what they are exactly?

Simply put, mini sessions are a smaller version of a full session. Mini sessions don't take as long as a full session, and it includes fewer images in the package than a full session.

Mini sessions are:

  • 15-20 minutes long
  • Scheduled for a set date and timeslot. I always have back-to-back mini sessions
  • One location
  • Includes 5 high-quality, professionally edited images with direct access to my print shop

So, why would a mini session be right for you?

Let's look at 3 reasons why you should book a mini session!

3 Reasons You Should Book a Mini Session

Well, you already know why I love mini sessions! Now, let's dive into why I think you will love them too!

  1. They're affordable. Mini sessions are the most affordable way to get to know me and my photography style, while still walking away with high-quality STUNNING IMAGES! Mini sessions cost a fraction of the price of a full session. Although I include 5 images with my mini session packages, there is always the option to purchase more when you fall in love with your full gallery! No matter how many images you choose, you always have full access to my print shop directly from your gallery!
  2. They're quick! My 15-20 minute mini sessions are ideal for families with small children! Trust me, I've had 3 of them myself and I know full well how long their attention spans last! We can successfully finish a mini session long before your kiddos start to get antsy. But minis aren't ONLY for families with small children! Minis work great for couples, headshots, simple branding sessions, pets, and more! The options are limitless. No matter what your session needs are, I'm here to meet them and provide you with you stunning images.
  3. They deliver! Are you looking for the perfect photos for your Christmas card? Are you updating your prints at home? Do you need new headshots for your business? Do you want cute back-to-school photos of your children? Are you celebrating a birthday? Whatever it is you need, lucky for you, I don't need a full hour to capture images that you'll be thrilled about! Sometimes all you want is a snapshot of this moment in time, and mini sessions won't leave you overwhelmed by a gallery of over 300 photos to choose from!

All that being said, not all sessions should be mini sessions!

Not All Sessions Should Be a Mini Session

Mini sessions are so versatile! That being said, not every session should be a mini session!

Who should book a FULL session?

  • Newborn Sessions
  • Some Family Sessions
  • Maternity Sessions
  • Extended Family Sessions
  • Branding Sessions
  • Engagement Sessions
  • Cake Smash Sessions
  • Extended Family Sessions
  • Weddings & Elopements (obviously!)
  • Graduation Sessions

These types of sessions need more time depending on the occasion, location(s), and the number of people involved. You also receive more images and have a wider variety of poses available to choose from.

Full sessions allow time for outfit changes and even location changes too!

So, a mini session might not be right for you if you fall under any of the categories above, or if you're looking for a little more than what a mini session can offer.
